amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research) wants you submit a cover of "That's What Friends Are For"—for a good cause.

Come December, it will have been 30 years since the AIDS epidemic began. In honor of the 40 million lives that have been lost, and the immeasurable lives that have been affected by HIV and AIDS, amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research) will be instating a totally awesome campaign to help end the epidemic: #SingForAIDS

amfAR is asking everybody to upload a video of them singing a cover of the hit song "That's What Friends Are For" on social media with the hashtag #SingForAIDS. Originally sung by Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and Gladys Knight, the song topped the Billboard charts thirty years ago and continues to resonate with people today. amfAR chose this song for the campaign as it perfectly captures the essence of what friendship means, and that friends should always stick with each other through "good times and bad times" because that's what friends who love each other do. And also, I mean, they probably thought of Bridesmaids.

The #SingForAIDS campaign runs until December 1st, which means get your pipes ready, start blasting the song on your commute to work, and get ready to join in the millions of supporters as we all get one step closer to a cure.

And now....enjoy this throwback:
