When news broke months ago that Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer would be writing a movie together, the Internet collectively freeked the eff out. Schumer told Access Hollywood earlier this year that the screenplay, which they both will star in as sisters, is "funny, dirty, and real." Now, Jennifer Lawrence has revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight some exclusive details about their movie.
While stingy on the actual plot and story of the movie, Lawrence has said that "Amy, in this movie, she has it very together. It's her lifelong dream to be a flight attendant. She works at the airport. And I'm a mess." It sounds like Schumer will be playing against the trainwreck type we've grown to love from her, which has us all sorts of excited. And honestly, who doesn't want to see Jennifer Lawrence as a hot mess?
Lawrence went further and added that, as it stands, their screenplay only has female characters, and said, "there's not really boys in it." With the additional news that Ocean's 11 is going to be remade with an all-female cast, along with the all-female Ghostbusters remake, powerful women are levelling the comedic playing field typically ruled by men. Our only words to that? It's about damn time.
