After getting his start in New York theater, Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson is headed back to the stage.
Varietyreports that Ferguson will be back on Broadway this spring in a new production of Fully Committed, a restaurant-centered comedy from Becky Mode. He'll star as an out-of-work actor who manages reservations at Manhattan's hottest restaurant.
Jason Moore will act as stage director (Avenue Q, Shrek the Musical) and also directed Pitch Perfect.
Fully Committed ran for a year-and-a-half Off-Broadway in the beginning of 1999, but this time around Mode will be modernizing the script to reflect the foodie culture that has surged through New York City since the turn of the millennium.
Barbara Whitman, one of the Fun Home producers, and Patrick Catullo (Next to Normal) will produce Fully Committed, whose previews begin April 2, 2016, before it opens April 25 at the Lyceum Theater in New York City.
