Because who better to address the tough issues?
If you've ever seen her stand-up or watched Chelsea Lately, you know that Chelsea Handler suffers no fools and displays no tact. The queen of not-P.C. has never shown any fear and now, freed from the standards and practices of E!, she's able to tackle any issue.
"My whole reason for doing a documentary was because I'm questioning things that I never did before and saying to world, 'this is how I feel.'"
Thus, Chelsea Does, a four-part docuseries directed by Oscar and Emmy-nominated Eddie Schmidt (This Film Is Not Yet Rated, Valentine Road) that's set to premiere at Sundance the day before it streams on Netflix.
Smoking weed with Willie Nelson, making fun of racial stereotypes, talking with the founders of cheaters-focused hookup site Ashley Madison, and taking on the tech-boom: it's all in a days work for Handler. Will it be politically correct? No. Insightful? Maybe. Entertaining as all hell? Fuck yeah!
Chelsea Doesdebuts January 23 on Netflix. Watch the trailer below--here's your trigger warning.
