Lamar is nominated for 11, while Swift and the Weeknd each got 7 nominations.
The nominations for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards were announced early this morning and when you consider that Adele wasn't eligible--she missed the cutoff date--there aren't any surprises.
Taylor swift is up for 7 including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Best Pop Vocal Album among others. It's been a big year for 1989.
The Weeknd was up for some of the same categories, like Album and Record of the Year (Beauty Behind the Madness and "Can't Feel my Face" respectively), as swift as well as awards for Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best R&B Song.
Kendrick Lamar got the most nominations at 11. He's contending for Album of the Year with both Taylor Swift and the Weeknd (Lamar's up for To Pimp a Butterfly), and Song of the Year with Swift (Lamar's nominated for "Alright").
Aussie rocker Courtney Barnett managed to get herself a nom for Best New Artist. Also of note: The Fun Home musical cast recording is going up against the seems-to-be-unbeatable Hamilton.
