According to a source, Bey’s looking for the role of a lifetime.
Beyonce's many things, but she's not quite a triple treat. As a singer and dancer, she slays, but as an actor...well just watch that third Austin Powers movie.
Well according to Us Weekly, Bey's on her way to becoming a real life thespian.
"She wants to land leading roles in movies and has been taking classes in New York and L.A. for the past year," an "insider" told the gossip mag.
"Bey's looking for an iconic dramatic role," says the unnamed source, who also stated that the "7/11" singer turned down NBC's The Wiz Live! "She wants to make a film that's socially relevant to African American rights."
The only award nomination Beyonce has received to date is a Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Golden Globe 2006's Dreamgirls. It seems that Beyonce wants to do more than musicals.
But even though Beyonce is still working on her craft, that doesn't mean she's not already getting offers. Us Weekly's mystery tipster adds "She's always being given scripts to read!"
Whomever Us Weekly's stool pigeon is, he or she seems to know a lot about the 34-year-old singer: "Beyonce's also recording a new album!" adds the source. "She's writing and working with a bunch of producers right now."
