The trans singer/songwriter has joined the Transparent team as a writer and actress.
Our Lady J recently spoke with ETOnline to talk about her role with the hit Amazon series, Transparent. The transgender singer and songwriter (and BFF of Daniel Radcliffe) joined the Transparent team as a writer and actress for the second season, which premieres Friday.
She expressed her excitement about the show's multiple Golden Globe and SAG Award nominations:
"As an outsider, I was able to celebrate all of their wins and nominations. I went to the Emmys and it was really exciting to support my family in that way. Now, with this Golden Globe nomination, I feel like a part of and I feel even more of a reason to celebrate being a part of the team."
She also discussed season two which will see numerous guest appearances by Anjelica Huston, Cherry Jones, and Hari Nef, who plays Tanta Gittel, a Pfefferman ancestor who appears in flashbacks of 1930s Berlin. Our Lady J will also appear in these Weimar-era scenes as Yorna. She recently teased a photo of her character on Instagram:
Our Lady J described the second season with just enough to keep us on the edge of our seats:
"This season, our trans characters are making mistakes and finding love and rejecting love and they're all caught up in the Pfefferman family mess. I'm really excited that all the trans characters are being sexualized and are also behaving quite badly. The Pfeffermans are pretty wrought with imperfections and, in season one, Maura was a bit of a saint."
Transparent Season 2 premieres Friday, December 11 on Amazon.
