The singer flawlessly addressed her son's future and potential sexuality in Time.
Although her comeback was only made in recent months, it's safe to say that 2015 is the year of Adele. Her first album in three years, 25 broke numerous records in its first week. Her single, "Hello" and the accompanying video inspired multiple parodies and artistic collaborations.
With her successful return to the music industry, the young singer/songwriter/mother graced the most recent cover of Time. In the interview, she discussed leaving social media, her potential acting career, and life as a mother [Read it here].
When discussing her son, her nonchalantly accepting approach to his sexuality is something to be admired:
"He makes me so proud of myself, and he makes me like myself so much. And I've always liked myself. I've never not liked myself. I don't have hangups like that. But I'm so proud of myself that I made him in my belly. Cooked him in my belly and then he came out of me! This human who's suddenly walking around and doing his own thing. I can't wait to know who his best friends are going to be, who his girlfriend or his boyfriend is going to be or what movies he likes... Whatever my kid wants to do or be I will always support him no matter what."
Since appearing on the cover of Out in 2011, she has easily become an gay icon. Although motherhood has changed her, she will always be a role model for the LGBT community.
