Kimberly Peirce’s Impact TV Thriller in Development
The Stop-Loss and Carrie director will try to work some TV magic for A&E.
According to Deadline, A&E has snapped up Impact, the television thriller project by Boys Don't Cry director Kimberly Peirce.
The project is a collaboration between Peirce, who also directed Channing Tatum in Stop-Loss and Chloe Grace Moretz in the remake of Carrie, with Nashville screenwriter Jason George.
George will write the script and Peirce will direct the pilot, and the series will be based on the TV movie of the same name. In the 2002 film, one of the UK's top airline investigators has been sent to uncover what happened when a commercial flight goes down outside of London. When she learns that her son may have been onboard, everyone she once trusted becomes a suspect. So this one will take place with a flight crashing outside D.C. and should have plenty of family drama.
