"Drag demands that you jump the shark every fucking day," RuPaul Charles explained before the season 7 premiere of his megahit. "They go hand-in-hand. The more outrageous you can be the better."
And Ru must be right. The premiere saw a 20% spike in ratings for Logo, according to the Viacom network, ranking it as one of the most-watched premieres in the show's history. Which means: Get ready for another season of drag queens cackling over cankles and shade over shading.
"Logo is like the Jay Z to my Beyonce," Charles, the show's executive producer, said in a prepared statement. "I was a star before we met, but together we have raised the bar to new heights, and created a brand that has taken over the world."
So production is beginning on the next era, and a national casting call "to seek out the fiercest queens across the land to compete in this genre-defining, battle royale of drag" begins again.
