Who better to soften your head-first dive into late night talk shows than - everyone?
James Corden (a Hot List 2014 Alum), was relatively unknown on this side of the pond until his big premiere last December in Into the Woods, where he played the baker opposite Emily Blunt and was plagued by Meryl Streep's witchy demands.
The two reunited briefly at the end of his star-studded skit about just how exactly he became the host of The Late Late Show (hint: Chelsea Handler needs to pay better attention). After Jay Leno tried to teach him the basics, Arnold Schwarzenegger tried to get him into shape, Allison Janney was unimpressed with his fake laugh, Shia LaBeouf did some very Shia-LaBeouf things, and finally, St. Meryl descended from on-high to whisper words of wisdom - in the form of Lady Gaga song titles.
Watch Corden's Late Late Show backstory below, and his eight-minute abbreviation of every Tom Hanks movie starring - Tom Hanks.
The Late Late Show airs on CBS at 12:35 am/11:35 pm CT.
