Country Radio Boycotting Little Big Town’s ‘Girl Crush’ for Promoting a Gay Agenda
Country music is proving that it is just as dysfunctional as other genres.
The band Little Big Town is on the receiving end of an actual boycott going on in country radio. Their latest song, "Girl Crush," which is about a man's ex-girlfriend wishing she was the woman he was currently with, has had its lyrics wildly misinterpreted and the band has been accused of promoting a gay agenda.
"I want to taste her lips, yeah 'cause they taste like you / I want to drown myself in a bottle of her perfume / I want her long blond hair, I want her magic touch / Yeah cause maybe then, you'd want me just as much... I got a girl crush."
Those are the lyrics to the ballad that have some country fans up in arms. Country singer Dierks Bentley told the Huffington Post that "the song being pulled is probably one of the best things that could have happened to them." Explaining that the only way to change the industry is to push and shove and the fans will eventually demand those types of changes too.
