The Girls star has his aspirations set for the cineplex.
According to Deadline, Andrew Rannells will star in a comedy film that he's also co-writing with Jersey Boys cast member Mike Doyle.
Tony and Grammy winner's pitch was accepted by Universal Pictures and Judd Apatow will produce the film under his Apatow Productions banner. Although there aren't more details at the moment, two funny guys who can sing? Maybe a funny musical comedy?
The Out100 honoree first won accolades for his star turn in Broadway's The Book of Mormon. Last fall, he also donned the wig after Neil Patrick Harris bowed out of Hedwig and the Angry Inch (co-star Lena Hall called him "the cheerleader"). "I like to try to make things as complicated for myself as possible," he told Out last year, "so three jobs at once was a real smart way to do that."
