Zayn Is Going To Act

He was the cutest guy in One Direction. (No arguments, please.) Now he's the cutest guy who used to be in One Direction. But fears any superfans had about Zayn Malik dropping out of sight forever after dropping out of the band can now be allayed. He's going to act.

The Mirror is reporting that Malik, 22, has been talking with Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha about film roles.

She says: "We've met and spoken. He trained as an actor first then became part of the band.

"So I think what he'll be doing is staying true to his heart--and that's all you can ever do."

Speaking at the Asian Awards on Friday--that were also attended by Zayn, his sexy new shaved head and BFF Naughty Boy--Gurinder adds: "I don't have a part in mind for Zayn just yet but hopefully in the future."

Chadha is currently working on a musical version of the soccer (er, football) movie.
