Laverne Cox Wins Daytime Emmy

Laverne and cast light Empire State Building for GLAAD Spirit Day with MTV and Logo

This past fall, MTV and Logo premiered Laverne Cox Presents: The T Word, a documentary that follows Cox as she spotlights seven trans youth from ages 12-24, who share their stories. The documentary was part of MTV's "Look Different" campaign, which aims to use education to fight biases based on race, gender, and sexual orientation. The doc received a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Class Special, and Cox made history once again as the first transgender woman to receive an Emmy as an Executive Producer.
