Ellen, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Oprah are listed in Forbes' list of female leaders
The iconic business magazine Forbes has issued the 2015 edition of its annual World's 100 Most Powerful Women list, recognizing girls who rule the world in the realms of politics, finance, and entertainment.
No suprise there: Oprah steals the crown in the Entertainment category, ranking at number 12. Next, Beyonce arrives in 21st position. Queen Bey also took the top spot on last year's Celeb 100 list, after earning big from ticket sales for her Mrs. Carter Show world tour, and the surprise release of her self-titled fifth album. According to Forbes, Beyonce earned more than $500 million in gross earnings as a solo artist. So don't worry about her.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift, who has the top-selling album of the year with 1989, arrives in 64th place, largely due to her impressive status as one of only three artists who had a platinum album last year.
Ellen DeGeneres has been bumped from the 46th place to the 50th, but Forbes notes her recent efforts to branch out from media mogul to full-on lifestyle guru. DeGeneres scores points for her viral Internet initiatives, her upcoming Netflix series based on Dr. Seuss, Green Eggs and Ham, and her new clothing line, ED by Ellen, which is set to hit stores this summer.
In the top three, we find politicians Angel Merkel and Hillary Clinton, followed by Melinda Gates.
