According to the New York Daily News, executives at E! have "internally named" Melissa Rivers, daughter of the late comic legend and Fashion Police host, Joan Rivers, as the next host of E!'s Fashion Police.
Sources told the Daily News that Melissa Rivers has signed on for a six episode commitment when Fashion Police resumes taping on Aug. 31. Any further episodes will be based on ratings.
The show's structure is also getting revamped. The rest of the "squad" will be staffed by a rotating panel of celebrities from L.A. and New York. There will also be a new set, according to the Daily News's source.
The younger Rivers will replace Kathy Griffin, who jumped ship along with Kelly Osbourne. Melissa has accused Griffin for "tarnishing" her mother's legacy (read: causing the show to implode). It remains to be seen if Melissa can revive the flagging program.
