Matt Bomer Was Almost Superman

Matt Bomer Was Almost Superman

Matt Bomer

Let the fantasizing begin.

It sounds too good to be true: the cape, the spandex, the heroic poses, that perfect coif of hair. But for a time, it looked like Matt Bomer was going to play J.J. Abrams' leading man from Krypton. Unfortunately, the project, which was supposed to be directed by Brett Ratner, never got off the ground.

"I had screen-tested with Amy Adams in tights," Bomer told Josh Horowitz on the podcast "Happy, Sad, Confused." The film was supposed to be a "lighthearted" take on Clark Kent's college years. "It was a month of, okay, it's going to happen, and then it slowly fell apart. But it's ok. I have zero regrets about that."

Ok, so we'll have to settle for his recurring role as a male stripper instead of having our damsel-in-distress superhero fantasies fulfilled. Fine.

The talk about what could have been happens around the 26:38 mark in the podcast recording below.
