Don’t cross these icy sorority sisters.
Now that Glee is over, Ryan Murphy is poised to deliver another Fall TV hit with Scream Queens. The college Greek-life murder mystery is already filled with faces both familiar and new to Murphy's universe, and now we're getting a preview of the "it" clique from the sorority row slasher.
Emma Roberts reigns, yet again, as the HBIC of Kappa Kappa Tau as the frigid Chanel Oberlin. Roberts describes her as "definitely not a nice person," and says she has a similar personality to Madison Montgomery, the witch starlet she played in American Horror Story: Coven.
Chanel #2 is played by Ariana Grande, who admitted how big of a fan she was to Murphy when they met. He subsequently pitched her the idea for Scream Queens saying she's "girl, and also love horror, gothic, crazy, weird stuff." Hopefully the show delivers all of the above.
"Scream Queens is Mean Girls meets Texas Chainsaw Massacre," said Billie Lourd, who plays Chanel #3, "but it's Heathers." This marks Lourd's first television role, and she describes #3 as a "sassy, but low-key individual."
Abigail Breslin fills out the group as Chanel #5 (no word on what happened to #4), whom she says is "smart, and cunning, and sociopathic, a little bit insane, and exactly what I hoped it would be."
Jamie Lee Curtis, Nick Jonas, Lea Michele, and Keke Palmer fill out of the rest of the cast of the comedy/horror that premieres on FOX on September 22.
