One of the quintessential hunks of our time might be hitting the sand in surf in an iconic red bathing suit.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zac Efron is in talks to star opposite Dwayne Johnson in the film adaption of Baywatch. Yes, that's the same Baywatch that made Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff slow-motion ubiquities in the '90s.
THR reports that the film:
Centers on a by-the-book and very serious lifeguard (Johnson) who is forced to team up with a young rule-flouting hothead (Efron) in order to save their beach from environmental destruction at the hands of an oil tycoon.
If that doesn't sound like the perfect mentor/mentee relationship, then what does? Though production hasn't started, this casting announcement certainly ups the film's hype. The only question now is, who else will Paramount get to fill out the cast of attractive California lifeguards?
Baywatch will release sometime in 2017. Read The Hollywood Reporter's full story here.
