Stephen Fry, Baby Spice to Take the Stage in Rocky Horror Revival
Never been more excited to do the Time Warp.
Yes. You read that right.
Beloved actor, presenter, comedian, author, and gay elder statesman, Stephen Fry will appear in a gala, star-studded performance of The Rocky Horror Picture Show alongside Emma Bunton (nee Baby Spice) and The Great British Bake Off host, Mel Giedroyc.
While ideally the three would take on the more pivotal roles (Bunton as Janet Weiss, Giedroyc as Columbia, Fry as Dr. Frank-N-Furter), the trio will actually be sharing the role of The Narrator. This is all part of a special September 17 performance to benefit Amnesty International, keep in mind.
The campy classic is returning to the West End for a sold out, 40th anniversary, 11-performance run, featuring the show's writer and original cast member Richard O'Brien, who will also be playing The Narrator. You'll recognize O'Brien as Riff Raff in the play's 1975 film adaptation.
"I've been a devoted fan of The Rocky Horror Show for most of my life and I have been proud to support the incredible work of Amnesty International for just as long," Fry says. "So to be joining Richard and the cast on stage for this special evening is a dream come true."
The star-studded performance will be live-streamed to movie theaters across the Great Britain and Europe and will begin a UK tour in December.
