Real Housewives of Atlanta Adds First Transgender Cast Member for Season 8

Bravo has brought Amiyah Scott onboard for Real Housewives of Atlanta season 8, thus making her the first transgender cast member to join the Real Housewives franchise.

Though it is unknown if Scott will be a housewife or just a recurring personality on the show, sources tell Variety that Scott attended a Monday night event with the cast and was seen filming for the program.

The pair will be filling NeNe Leakes' spot on the show, who left the RHOA earlier this year.

Scott has over just under 700,000 Instagram followers and 157,000 Twitter followers describes herself as a "makeup guru," "weaveologist," "transformer" and "the unicorn with an invisible horn."

According to TMZ, she began transitioning 10 years ago at the age of 17.

The show is also adding Facts of Life star Kim Fields (a.k.a. Tootie) to the cast.
