"It's so special. So far, that's not something I've experienced in my life, to get to love someone openly, to hold someone's hand walking down the street. And it's a beautiful, beautiful thing. And I'm just very lucky to have someone in my life as special as her."
Page also posted a cute photo on her Instagram with Freeheld costar, Julianne Moore:
Moore, who plays Page's wife in the movie, also chimed in on the young actress and her inspiring year:
"I could talk about Ellen Page forever. I adore her. She's had an amazing year. She's an amazing person. She's an incredible standard bearer, I think, just for the gay community and for her experience. And she really sets an incredible example."
Having come out of the closet in 2014, Page has quickly become an advocate for the LGBT community. Also a producer on Freeheld, she's striving to make sure more gay stories are depicted in Hollywood.
