Burberry Stuns with 160-Year Anniversary Tribute Video

burberry_video

Dear Burberry, please make this into a real movie.

Burberry just released a new holiday campaign video detailing the life of the brand's creator, Thomas Burberry, starring Domhnall Gleeson, Lily James, Sienna Miller, and Dominic West. It looks and feels like an Oscar-winning biopic, except for the fact that it's actually only three minutes and thirty-five seconds long.

Don't be fooled--this is not a trailer for the greatest movie ever made, although we certainly wish it was. The short film was created in honor of the luxury brand's 160th anniversary.

According to PEOPLE, Burberry Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer Christopher Bailey announced that the short film was Burberry's attempt to tell the story of their transformative creator.

"This Christmas, as we celebrate our 160th anniversary we wanted to tell the story of Thomas Burberry--pioneer, inventor, innovator, and the man behind the iconic trench coat--in our own words," said Bailey. "The film we have made is a brief glimpse inspired by his full and extraordinary life, which threaded its way through the history of the 20th century in all its tumultuous highs and lows."

The short film details Burberry's invention of the water-resistant fabric, gabardine, the Antarctic Shackleton Expeditions, and two love affairs with Miller and James. Not to mention that the video is also directed by Oscar-winner Asif Kapadia (Amy) and written by the Oscar-nominee Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies).
