'90s Love! New Kids on the Block Singer Jonathan Knight Is Engaged

47-year-old former New Kids on the Block member Jonathan Knight proposed to his longtime boyfriend, personal trainer Harley Rodriguez.

He discussed the details of his proposal on Sirius Radio's The Jenny McCarthy Show on Tuesday. Knight decided to pop the question on the couple's African vacation.

"We were in Africa, our parents were there--our moms were there--and I just figured this was the time to pop the question and make it official," said Knight. "We were on the Zambezi River--it's right above Victoria Falls. We took a nighttime raft dinner, just the four of us out on the river, there was like a hippopotamus in the background. It was a super moon. It was just absolutely beautiful, it was so romantic."

The pair has been together since 2008. Knight told McCarthy that although they had always considered their relationship similar to that of a "married couple," his boyfriend had "no clue" that a proposal was coming.

Soon, Knight will embark on a North American tour with his former band alongside Boyz II Men and Paula Abdul (SO '90s).
