Will Smith Responds to Jaden’s Gender-Fluid Style

During an interview on BBC Radio 1Xtra with A.Dot earlier this week, Will Smith talked about his hands-off parenting style; both Jaden and Willow have a lot of freedom of expression.

"Yeah, I think it may have been a mistake," Will joked. "I think we may have gone too far."

When the radio host asked Will about how he feels about Jaden's gender-fluid style and his recent photoshoot with Louis Vuitton, Will's response was filled with nothing but support for his son:

"You know, there's a really powerful internal quality as an artist that as parents we encourage. You gotta get out on the edge, you have to try things, you have to be comfortable doing things that people don't agree with and you have to be comfortable doing things that you could fail. Jaden is 100 percent fearless, he will do anything, you know? So as a parent it's scary, it's really terrifying, but he is completely willing to live and die by his own artistic decisions and he just doesn't concern himself with what people think."

Will's supportive statement reflects his open-mind when it comes to his children expressing themselves.
