The Faking It star has been cast as a high school quarterback who pretends to be gay.
You may know Gregg Sulkin from Faking It on MTV. He plays a high school artist who gets entwined in a faux lesbian relationship between a fake lesbian and her BFF.
If that's not enough pseudo-gay drama for you, now Sulkin has been cast in the movie, Status Update. He stars as a high school quarterback aspiring to be a journalist. While researching a story, he changes his Facebook status to "interested in men" to gauge reactions from his friends in family. But when another kid posts a video about this high school hero, the gay quarterback suddenly receives national attention. Although teenagers from all over the country put him on a pedestal, he finds keeping up the facade a challenge.
Status Update is directed by Gabe Torres and written by Torres and Britt Logan. A release has not been announced.
