The name is Bond. Jane, Bond.
While most of the internet is busy debating whether or not there should be a black Bond (the answer is always "yes," especially if it's Idris Elba), some went one step further. Why couldn't there be a female Bond, afterall?
A fan of Gillian Anderson, who boasts some heavyweight credentials when it comes to kicking ass (watch The X-Files and The Fall for reminder), had the brilliant idea to throw her name into the hat in hopes of seeing her become Daniel Craig's successor.
Anderson later endorsed the campaign on Twitter:
\u201cIt's Bond. Jane Bond. \nThanks for all the votes! (And sorry, don't know who made poster but I love it!) #NextBond\u201d— Gillian Anderson (@Gillian Anderson) 1463868947
The post was picked up by The Guardian and quickly went viral, adding Anderson's name next to Elba, Tom Hiddleston, and Damian Lewis as the potential next 007.
