The Late Late Show's James Corden is pretty much winning late night and a big reason is "Carpool Karaoke." With Corden hosting the Tony Awards on June 12, he invited some of the theater world's brightest luminaries for some good old-fashioned backseat belting.
Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda, six-time Tony Winner Audra McDonald, and TV moonlighters Jesse Tyler Ferguson (currently appearing in Fully Committed) and Jane Krakowski (high-kickin' it in She Loves Me) joined Corden to show some tunes on a ride through Manhattan.
It's always a delight to hear a sing-along to "Seasons of Love" when everyone's actually on key, though I do feel robbed at not hearing a solo from national treasure Audra McDonald. But that's made up for in the epic finale number "One Day More" from Les Miserables. I'm surprised someone on the street didn't just hurl a Tony into that SUV for Audra's final high note, not to mention the schtick between Ferguson and serial Emmy snubbee Krakowski.
