The punk rocker stopped by Pandora to talk about her autobiography and upcoming album.
Out100 Honoree, Laura Jane Grace recently stopped by Pandora to speak with Colleen Finnegan of the Pandora Pride Organization. The musician spoke about her autobiography, Tranny: Confessions of Punk Rock's Most Infamous Anarchist Sellout and her seventh album with the band, Against Me!
She also took the opportunity to speak about the LGBT community's recent tragedy in Orlando. When asked to chime in on how to deal with fear in the wake of the Pulse nightclub shooting, Grace said:
"I only can sympathize. I have those same fears. As someone who in a couple days will be standing on a stage in a room full of people feeling that amount of responsibility for everyone who's there, I have no idea what I would do in that situation other than trying to survive. I definitely do not think the answer is to hide, to not be out there, to not be visible, but I have no other solution to the problem to offer than gun control."
Although it's important to embrace our truest selves, especially during Pride month, Grace reminds us that it's normal to be afraid right now.
