Just when your faith in humanity may have been lost, the gift that is Dolly Parton--national treasure, fairy godmother, and the presidential candidate we deserve--shines a light.
"I try every day to leave something in this world that is a little better and a bit brighter," Her Partonness tells The Guardian. Back in 2014, she promised to leave the world the best and brightest something with a dance album geared toward the LGBT community.
Two years later, and we're still waiting for that twerk of many colors, so what's the T, Dolly?
Every time I start to work on that, something else comes up, like this big tour. I'll have to put that dance album on the shelf again. But one day I promise you I will get that out. One of the songs is "I'm a Wee Bit Gay." It's a fun, tongue-in-cheek type of song. I promise I'll get it out.
We'll holding you to that promise as well as the inevitable remixes and a cameo from goddaughter and fellow queer icon Miley Cyrus.
Elsewhere, Dolly clarifies her misconstrued endorsement of Hillary Clinton, saying that she hasn't decided who she's voting for (really, queen?) and she prefers to stay out of politics, despite being at least as equally qualified as Donald Trump:
I was saying that I think a woman would be great, I'm sure Hillary would be fine. I have not endorsed either candidate. I was only saying I might run myself because I have the hair for it, it's huge. And I think we could use more boobs in the race.
Well, there's at least one boob in the race. One big orange boob. As for her and her gay fans, Dolly says we just get one another:
I've fought for the right to be myself, so that is one of the reasons that the gays and lesbians relate to me. They know that I appreciate everybody for who they are.
