Jenner hopes to make a change in the Republican Party.
Donald Trump, the newly appointed presidential nominee of the Republican Party, stands against same-sex marriage. His running mate, VP hopeful Mike Pence, has signed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act in 2015 that allows businesses to discriminate against LGBTQ people. But despite all these controversial decisions, the reality star Caitlyn Jenner supports the Republican Party.
Jenner made an appearance at the Republican National Committee. Introduced as "the most famous Republican in the world," admits that the Democratic Party does a better job dealing with LGBTQ issues, but she wants to help the Republican Party by sharing her story. "I think the Republican Party needs to understand, they need to know people who are trans," says Jenner. "It was easy to come out as trans, it was harder to come out as a Republican."
Well, let's just wait and see if Jenner can change Trump's mind.
