Bette Midler Gives Idina Menzel Her Blessing for Beaches Remake
Menzel will record her own version of “Wind Beneath My Wings” for the Lifetime movie.

It's been almost 30 years since CC Bloom and Hillary Whitney Essex became life-long friends in Beaches, despite the social chasm between them.
Now, Lifetime has greenlighted a TV-remake of the film starring Idina Menzel as CC, according to Deadline. Bette Midler, who originated the role of CC, couldn't contain her excitement and shared her support on Twitter.

Menzel, who will record her own version of "Wind Beneath My Wings," which earned Midler a Grammy for her original recording, responded, saying Midler is "one of my all time idols."
