Cher is up for a Shorty Award, and the Oscar-winner wants your vote.
Cher has snatched many a trophy in her life: an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and how could we forget, a TV Land award. But one honor eludes her still: a Shorty. Celebrating the best in social media, the Shortys have nominated Cher in the Celebrity category. And mother wants to win.
The legend tweeted:
“Can't🐝lieve I'm Nominated 4 a SHORTY👻 I'm 70,Dyslexic,Emoji like a Tween & ON PERPETUAL CAP🔒Vote 4 Me,May🐝⚰️Nxt Year https://t.co/Iu0Eyplvdw”— Cher (@Cher) 1484796758
The Shortys are playing a little fast and loose with the term "celebrity" however, with Paris Hilton, Spencer Pratt (who is still around), and Joanne the Scammer also represented among the nominees. While Joanne the Scammer is still more of a celebrity than Spencer Pratt, they face some big name competition from Oprah, Lady Gaga, Shaq, Kylie Jenner, and low-key VIP shadester Chrissy Tiegen.
That's a pretty stacked lineup, but Cher's impassioned, emoji'd, grammatically questionable tweets have been a balm to a painful election year, and she's still out here dragging Donald Trump and speaking truth to power, 140 characters (or less) at a time.
So, sorry Oprah, My Queen, but the Shorty goes to Cher. Click here to say you "Believe."
