Selfie Game Strong in Gritty Beach Rats Teaser

Writer/director Eliza Hittman tells a queer coming-of-age story in Beach Rats, a 2017 Sundance favorite that won her the "Directing Award: US Dramatic."

The film follows teenage Brooklynite, Frankie as he spends his summer discovering himself. Occupying his time with delinquent friends, a new girlfriend and older men he meets online, Frankie finds himself on the verge of a sexual awakening.

Beach Rats' first teaser for the film features Harris Dickinson in his debut role as young Frankie, as snaps one selfie after another in the mirror--an illustration of Hittman's gritty yet sexy vision. The clip previews what's sure-to-be a sultry teenage drama, a la Larry Clark's Kids.
