Legend of Korra Explores Queer Romance in First Look at New Comic
The popular animated series The Legend of Korra ended its last season with a tender moment between the title hero, Korra, and best friend Asami, which both fans and creators believed to be the start of a relationship between the two female characters.
Now, in a first look at a follow-up comic to the TV series, fans will get to see more of Korra and Asami's adventures in the Spirit World--and their relationship grow even closer.

In an Entertainment Weekly exclusive, Dark Horse Comics released the first pages of The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars. Korra and Asami are seen enjoying a vacation in the Spirit World--hiking, swimming hand in hand, and even picnicking. Of course, trouble comes along as the dramatic ending of the last season results in an unexpected standoff with spirits and benders alike.
"It's gonna take place right after the finale, so it's focusing on Korra and Asami's relationship as a new threat emerges," series co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino said.
