"There's lots of gay sex in it!" McGregor proclaimed on Stephen Colbert's Late Show.

Actor Ewan McGregor stopped by Stephen Colbert's Late Show last night to talk about his new films, T2 Trainspotting and, naturally, Beauty and the Beast, in which he plays the candlestick Lumiere. During his visit, he had some choice words for homophobes, who're upset the film will feature Disney's first "exclusively gay moment."

"There was a little bit of controversy around this film, " Colbert begins, before:

"There's lots of gay sex in it!" McGregor proclaims. "There's a lot of gay sex in it! And I think if you live anywhere near Alabama, you should not go and see this film. What would Jesus think?"

Colbert responded, "There are rumors that he had gay yearnings for Gaston. It turns out he dances with a guy in a dress in one of the scenes. That's the whole thing."

"No, I think he's a gay character," responds McGregor calmly.

"I thought it turned out he doesn't actually say," Colbert says.

"He's a gay character. It's 2017, for fuck's sake!" McGregor yells, reminding us again that we're totally, deeply in love with him. Watch the encounter, below.

Beauty and the Beast hits theaters this Friday, March 17.
