The Witness pop star stopped by Ellen today to talk new album and tease American Idol.
After announcing her new album Witness earlier this week, Katy Perry stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show today to chat about her newest projects, Ellen-inspired pixie cut, and some mysterious information about the upcoming American Idol revival.

First, Perry talked about taking a break post-Super Bowl and Prism, and how she developed her fifth studio album, Witness: "I was tired," she said. "I'm human. A human needed to rest. So I took October to June off. Then I started writing a record in June of last year. And I wrote over 40 songs. Now I have 15 beautiful songs that represent this story I want to share with the world, that comes out June 9."
We'll happily accept 15 new KP bangers this summer, but we're especially excited about Perry's sly reaction when Ellen asked, "So you're going to be the judge on 'American Idol?'" To that, our "Chained to the Rhythm" songstress took a knowing sip of her coffee and smiled at the audience--very interesting.
