Comedian Lil Duval is Unapologetic After Violent Transphobic Comments
It's sad when people would rather sit and stew in a place of intolerance and prejudice instead of trying to learn and remove themselves from ignorance. Apparently comedian Lil Duval likes his seat at the transphobic table just fine, though--after making violent transphobic remarks during Friday's episode of New York's Breakfast Club morning radio show, he remains unrepentant.
“"Lil duval they waiting on you to apologize"

Me:”— lil duval (@lil duval) 1501501749
When asked by one of the show's hosts how he would react if he found out a woman he was dating for four months was transgender, he said she's "dying." Even when the other hosts tried to rein him in a bit he continued: "You manipulated me to believing that this thing--my mind--I can't--I'm gay now!" Let the weight of that statement and its utter lack of understanding sink in.

After the episode aired actress Laverne Cox was quick to attempt to educate Duvall, citing the statistics for the aggression and violence trans women face in America, with trans women of color being even more effected. Trans writer and activist Tiq Milan was also ready to remind the world how an overarching heteronormative society has failed trans women:
“We need to dispel the myth that transgender women are "tricking" men into sex. These know who they are laying down with.”— Tiq Milan (@Tiq Milan) 1501511100
“Trans attracted men are shamed so much by their hetero counterparts that they would rather kill a transwomen than protect her”— Tiq Milan (@Tiq Milan) 1501511100
“They resorted to the tired myth of trans deception and joke about murdering them to feel better about their weak compromised masculinity”— Tiq Milan (@Tiq Milan) 1501511100
“@lilduval The "trick" is that cishet men lie pathologically. They lie on their dicks, where they've been, who they're with, what they've done.”— Tiq Milan (@Tiq Milan) 1501511100
“@lilduval We can't let the lies cishet men tell pathologize us. We are not the problem. Your violent fragility is.”— Tiq Milan (@Tiq Milan) 1501511100
Unsurprisingly, Duvall remains willfully ignorant, content to discount an entire community of people based on his lack of understanding and empathy.
