Rapper Logic has released a music video for his song "1-800-273-8255," which happens to be the number of the National Suicide Prevention Hotline. The short film depicts a boy struggling to come to terms with his homosexuality, facing rejection from his family and peers.
The movie follows a boy as an infant, cradled in his father's arms (played by Don Cheadle), then sees him age into childhood and to being a teenager, where he's played by Nickelodeon star Coy Stewart. He then falls for another boy at school, Modern Family's Nolan Gould, and faces bullying before growing into a happy, married man.
In addition, the video sees features from Alessia Cara and Khalid, both of whom sing verses in this extended version. Luis Guzman and Matthew Modine are also in the star-studded cast.
Besides the National Suicide Prevention Hotline, The Trevor Project is a great LGBTQ resource for those struggling with mental illness, depression and suicidal ideations. Take a look at the video, below.
