"I feel like, when I dance, it's the true me that shines through. It's the most freeing feeling ever--I become myself through the movement," Leroy Mokgatle says in the new short film 'Practice.' The 17-year old ballet dancer from Pretoria, South Africa is the focus of the new project by London menswear designer Grace Wales Bonner and photographer Harley Weir.

The dynamic duo of Bonner and Weir have a history of collaborating on films that showcase alternative forms of masculinity around the world and, in 'Practice,' their creative lens falls on Mokgatle as he dances in shopping malls and rivers before ending up in a nightclub.
Throughout the 11-minute clip, he dances from Johannesburg to Cape Town in Wales Bonner's AW17 collection as Dev Hynes adds his atmospheric touch to the film's score. "Film feels like a rich medium through which to expand my world, opening up new possibilities for collaboration, research, and communication," Wales Bonner explained to Dazed about the film. "Harley's eye and Dev's intuition really brought this to life. I have been so motivated and inspired by the team, and the dancers I met along the way. The film is a testament to them."
