Blanco deleted their entire account following the outburst, only to later return to Twitter and issue an apology over the course of several tweets.

The rapper clarified that they had been speaking specifically about artists who claim a bisexual identity to profit from queer interest yet don't live queer lives--like Aaron Carter, whose came out as bisexual and experienced a massive career revitalization, only to claim that he would still be pursuing women shortly after.
Blanco also took a stab at call out culture, which they claim values a theoretical approach to queerness rather than a lived experience.
While many of Blanco's queer fans have criticized the artist for their comments, just as many seemingly agree with them.
