The anti-bullying initiative grows every year.
It may have felt like you were looking at your social media feeds through violet-tinted glasses yesterday when countless members of the LGBTQ community and their allies partook in GLAAD's annual spirit day and wore purple to advocate against bullying.
The tradition began in 2010 in response to a despairing influx in queer youth suicides, including that of Tyler Clementi. Now, nearly a decade later, celebrities, organizations, the casts of television shows and films, and countless more get involved for the day, which takes place in the middle of October, which has become National Bullying Prevention Month.
Here are some of our favorite posts from yesterday.
