Jonathan Van Ness Reveals the Queer Eye Casting Process

The Fab Five grooming guru killed his first solo talk show appearance.

As we're deep into rewatching seasons of Netflix's Queer Eye, we can't help but soak up every little bit of the Fab Five we can get. Whether it's Antoni Porowski going public with his new man, Tan France calling out the TSA, or Karam Browno spilling tea about Call Me by Your Name, we need our fix.

Luckily, Jonathan Van Ness just made his first solo talk show appearance, and we are living, hunty. The grooming expert stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday night to chat about how he joined the Fab Five.

In what he compares to an America's Next Top Model-style process, he explained that they were narrowed down to 50. "50 really talented gay men descended upon this ballroom in Glendale, California. And we basically mingled each other to death, but in a really loving way."

He also talked Kimmel through his journey to the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. With Adam Rippon's retirement leaving a spot open on team USA, Van Ness has been practicing for a whole four weeks and is ready to fill his spot. Can you believe?

But this isn't his first attempt at the underappreciated sport/artform. Kimmel was prepared with a video from Van Ness' sixth grade talent show, in which he performed a floor figure skating routine, nailing the single axle. "I was a male cheerleader. It is incredibly hard to embarass me, and that is as close as you could come in real life," he told Kimmel.

Check out Van Ness' gold-worthy routine below, and take a shot every time he calls Kimmel "honey."
