Jay-Z is the latest confirmed celebrity guest on the new David Letterman Netflix show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.
Previously, we've seen clips of Beyonce's husband talking about his contemporaries, like Snoop Dogg and Eminem, and admiring their talents. In a newly released clip, the 4:44 rapper talks about his mom, Gloria Carter, who came out to him as a lesbian last year as he was making his record. She is featured on and the subject of the 4:44 track "Smile."

Speaking to Letterman, Jay explains that when he finally heard her express her love for her same-sex partner: "I mean, I really cried. That's a real story. I cried because I was so happy for her that she was free."
