Narrated by drag queen Linda Simpson, the informative video explains how in the late 80s, the East Village in Manhattan become the hub for drag queens, including none other than Ms. RuPaul Charles. According to Simpson, RuPaul's single, "Supermodel," was a turning point in drag herstory. Released in 1993, the song actually climbed the U.S. top 40 charts, and that's when drag started to become a more international phenomenon.
