It's never too early to become a gay icon. And some of pop's greatest names are coming together to take over your baby's playlist. Beyonce, Britney Spears, Madonna, Rihanna, Janet Jackson, and Katy Perry are just a few of the names featured on Rockabye Baby!: Who Runs the World, a compilation that features lullaby versions of some of our favorite hits.
The new compilation of the popular lullaby album series was created by Lisa Roth to foster a sense of female empowerment during the #MeToo movement. Having grown up during desegregation, Roth was raised with a unique sense of social consciousness.
"We don't often do compilations, but this is an extraordinary time for so many, especially for women, people of color, and the LGBTQIA community, and we want to celebrate that," Roth says. "It's also an incredibly challenging time, and this is an opportunity to say publicly about our values: 'This is what I care about, this is what I support.' We've produced a compilation of strong female voices who are bold, unapologetic boundary-pushers and we're putting them front and center."
In addition to featuring the greats and empowering women, the album also benefits Planned Parenthood. Roth is donating 20 percent of the sales to the organization.
