Last night (August 5) Dominique McLean (aka SonicFox) won the Dragon Ball FighterZ world title at the 2018 Evolution Championship Series held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
Wearing his iconic blue Sonic the Hedgehog-inspired costume, the professional gamer earned the champion title after beating out 2,575 other entrants. SonicFox got to walk out of the Events Center with an Evo trophy and check for $15,000.
Immediately after winning the DBFZ tournament, the gamer, who calls himself the "Black Queer Furry" tweeted:
Following his big win, he told ESPN, "The more fame that I have, the more I realize, why should I care what people think about me when I can just be me?"
The DGAF gamer continued, "That's how I made my brand. You should just always be yourself and there will always be people who will like you."
