Actress, Chloe Grace Moretz has found inspiration in her recent film, The Miseducation of Cameron Post. Written and directed by Desiree Akhavan, Moretz plays a queer teen in 1993. After being caught with the prom queen, she's sent to a conversion therapy camp, where she form a bond with some of the other residents.
Moretz has just announced that she'll be exploring the topic further in a new docuseries. Along with her mother and brother, she'll go into conversion therapy camps to expose their practices. In the past, she's spoken about her gay brothers' attempts to "pray the gay away" before coming out.
"Doing research for this film, I was unaware of the modernity of the issue of gay conversion in America," she told PinkNews. "It's a silent epidemic that, now more than ever, especially under our administration, is growing in traction."
Moretz says she's already sold the series to a major company.
