Dolly Parton and Sia just collaborated for a duet worthy of its own Pride float. The duo released a re-recording of Parton's classic hit, "Here I Am" from the album, Coat of Many Colors.
The track is from the soundtrack of a new Netflix film, entitled Dumplin'. It features six new songs, co-written by Parton and Linda Perry. It also includes several covers of some of Parton's classics by Miranda Lambert, Alison Krauss, Rhonda Vincent, and Sia.
Based on the 2015 YA novel of the same name, Dumplin' is about a plus-sized teen named Willowdean (Danielle Macdonald). In attempt to win over the boy she likes and piss off her mom (Jennifer Aniston), the confident teen enters a local beauty pageant. In doing so, she inspires a group of outcasts to find their own confidence and enter the pageant too.
Dumplin' premieres later this year on Netflix, and the soundtrack will be available November 30, and the single is now available to download and stream. Listen to Parton and Sia sing "Here I Am" below:
